This 12 section /1 drawing room car was built by Pullman in 1924. It was sold to the Southern Railroad on December 31, 1948 and was used in regular passenger service until March 8, 1965.  The car was finally retired to New Orleans and is currently scheduled for future restoration.

Road Numbers:

This 6 compartment/3 drawing-room car was built by Pullman in 1928. It was operated by the Southern Railroad until 1967 when it was acquired by a private owner. The car was finally retired to New Orleans in the late 80′s and is currently scheduled for future restoration.

This Baggage / Crew Dormitory car was used on the New York Central from 1947 until it was retired in 1967.  It was later used in Maintenance-of-Way. 


Discovery Car

This former Canadian National Baggage car was built in 1952 and later served as storage car #203 from the Canadian “Discovery” Train.  The Discovery Train was operated by the National Museum of Canada (Ottawa) and traveled throughout Canada in the early ’80s.

In April 1983, Union Pacific purchased the 19 cars of the “Discovery Train” from the Canadian Crown Assets Disposal Corp. In 1990 the Union Pacific sold all but the two power cars (205 and 206) to scrap dealers.  The “Discovery” made its way to New Orleans and is awaiting

“Sea Island” Coach

This car was built by Pullman in 1914 and operated as the Seaboard “Charing Cross.”  In 1930, the car was rebuilt using Plan#4296 and re-named the “Seaboard”  In July 1935, the name was changed to the “Sea Island”

Southern Railway acquired the car in 1955 and operated it as #1045. In 1955 it was converted to a Coach and was later used as a maintenance of way car.
